Singles Ministry Food Fellowship Fun (FFF) Recap

Updated: Sep 1, 2023

Our first Singles Ministry event was a resounding success, bringing together our singles community for an evening of culinary delight, fellowship, and connection. Through the shared experience of cooking and enjoying authentic Italian cuisine, we deepened our bonds, created lasting memories, and strengthened our sense of belonging within our ministry.

The event started with a warm welcome from Senior Pastor Joyce Thilges. At this engaging event, the singles came together to learn the art of cooking Italian cuisine while also engaging in meaningful conversations and getting to know each other better. As they chop, stir, and savor the flavors of Italy, they are encouraged to ask thought-provoking questions that foster connection, creating an enjoyable and interactive experience for all. Each person in attendance helped cook the food by doing different tasks such as cutting onions or stirring the pot of pasta. As we waited for the food to cook, we were asked a series of questions by the Senior Pastor to get to know each other better. These included some basic topics such as hobbies and where we came from. Once the food was ready, the singles enjoyed the delicious Italian cuisine.

After we ate, the singles moved on to playing a few games for a chance to win some prizes. The first of these was a game where we had to guess what type of environment each person would prefer to live in. The options included living in a lake, beach, ocean, river, or mountain. In the end, our sister Ivanna and our brother John came out victorious. We ended the night with a thrilling game of team charades, a game where players act out a word or phrase without speaking, while others guess what they are trying to convey. The theme for this game was "structure". Senior Pastor Dave Thilges provided a structure for each team to act out. Everyone gave it their all, but the winners of this thrilling game of charades were Pastor Sandra Terrell and John! The night concluded with a thank you from Senior Pastor Joyce Thilges and an invitation to the next Singles Ministry event.

We look forward to future events that will continue to foster a spirit of togetherness and joy in our singles community. The next event for the Singles Ministry is the Bowling Bash Bananza (BBB) at Pinstack. This will take place on October 1st from 5-8 pm. If you know any singles who would enjoy fostering new connections with Godly people, feel free to invite them to lace up their bowling shoes, bring their competitive spirit, and enjoy a fun-filled evening of strikes, spares, and laughter as we build connections and create lasting memories. Make sure to RSVP on the church website by going to the "Event Sign Up" tab listed under "News & Events".
